Building a world children can recognize before they can even read.
A personal children’s publishing project exploring character design, visual storytelling and world-building. I developed the characters, their personalities, proportions, expressions and visual relationships as a consistent family system designed to work across books, illustrations and animation.

Each character was developed with consistent proportions, expressions, poses and personality cues so they could remain recognizable across different stories, scenes and formats.
From Character System to Story
Once the visual system was established, the characters moved into illustrated environments designed to feel warm, playful and immediately familiar to young children.
